Santa Rosa Fire Station 5
Location: Santa Rosa, CA

Sq. Footage: 10,000
Wright Contracting and COAR Design Group partnered to complete the Santa Rosa Fire Station 5 Design-Build project. The new station replaces the one previously located on Newgate Court in the Fountaingrove neighborhood of Santa Rosa, which was destroyed during the October 2017 wildfire. The location of the new station is the southeast corner of Stagecoach Road and Fountaingrove Parkway.
Our design minimizes adverse effects on the exterior environment, enhances the quality of the indoor environment, and minimizes consumption of energy, water, and construction materials, providing a new station with the function, amenities, and comfort required, while utilizing best practices for fire station design.
The station was designed to meet the goal of having a strong civic presence that incorporates the architectural language of the surrounding Fountaingrove area. A prominent tower with the large number 5, apparatus bay doors, large fire department logos, and the scale and massing clearly denote the building as a fire station, while the materiality and architectural aesthetic compliments and fits well within the context of the neighborhood.
