Dominus Winery

"Innovative, clever and artistic" are just a few of the words written when showcasing this beautiful stone winery designed by Herzog & de Meuron Architekten of Switzerland. The innovative design included the use of native stones caged in wire gabions as the walls of the barrel rooms and warehouse. The stone walls appear conventional until you step inside and see daylight filtering through. This 50,000 SF facility has been featured in such publications as Architecture, Architectural Record and Germany's Baumeister - a journal of architecture and planning.
