Vida Nueva is a permanent supportive housing project comprised of three two-story buildings home to 24 family units and a one-story community building. Located near services in Rohnert Park this family housing project was completed in 2008. The development earned a GreenPoint Rated certification by Build It Green. Solar panels were added as part of the Sonoma County-wide plan for reducing greenhouse gas emissions 25 percent below 1990 levels by 2015.  The new solar energy system will save the City of Rohnert Park over 3 tons of harmful greenhouse gas emissions every year.  Designed with children in mind the development is fully fenced and parents have sight-lines from all common spaces.  Comprehensive on-site supportive services will be provided in the 2,300-square foot “Common House” that anchors the development. The Family Connection Program, utilizing volunteer mentoring teams, will provide additional support to families.
